Custard Ice cream Cone
Ingredients
Sugar – 5 tbsp
Cream – 2 tbsp
Waffle Cone
Fruits
National Strawberry Custard: 1 packet
Method
Prepare National Strawberry Custard following the instructions on the pack.
When done, add cream and whip the mixture for a minute. Pour this mixture in a freezer safe box and freeze it for an hour.
After an hour whip it again for a minute. Repeat the process twice. (This is to avoid the formation of ice and to get a creamy texture).
After whipping the mixture thrice, freeze it for 5-6 hours. Your National Strawberry Custard Ice cream is done.
Proceed with placing a layer of sponge cake or cheese cake at the bottom of the waffle cone and then add the custard ice cream in the cone.
Top it with fruits and jelly.
Custard Tart with Mixed Fruit
Ingredients
Butter: 2 tsp
Caster Sugar: 1 tsp
Plain Flour: 3/4 cup
Pinch of baking powder
National Custard Powder: 1 tbsp
Milk: 1 tbsp
Plain flour for rolling and dusting
3/4 cup chopped mixed fruits (apple, grapes and orange)
Sprinkles
National Vanilla Custard: 1 packet
Method
Sieve together the flour and baking powder.
Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl with a wooden spoon till light and fluffy.
Add the flour, National Vanilla Custard Powder, milk and mix gently to form a dough using a tablespoon of water if required.
Knead the dough on a light dusted surface until smooth.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and roll each portion into a 100 mm 4 inch round using a little plain flour.
Press each round into a greased tart mould (approx. 2 1/2 inch in diameter. Prick with a fork at even distance.
Place them on a baking tray and bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees F for 15 minutes or until the tarts are in golden color.
Remove, unmould and cool. Store in an airtight container.
Make the National Vanilla Custard as per instructions on the box. Cool and divide the custard into 8 equal portions. Keep aside.
Fill each tart with a portion of the custard and refrigerate until the custard is set. Just before serving, top each tart with mixed fruits and jelly.
